Prof. James Banda

Eng. Kabwe J. Musonda Mutashi (PHD)

Chairperson

Experienced project manager and chemical engineer, currently serving as Deputy Registrar and Regional Manager at the Engineering Institution of Zambia. She holds MSc and BSc degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and has received several accolades, including the Mandela Washington Fellowship. Her background spans regulatory oversight, research, environmental impact studies, and community leadership.

Dr. Charity Mwansa

John Machayi

Vice Chairperson

Senior banking executive with over 32 years of experience in audit, compliance, risk, and operations. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board and holds advanced qualifications in business and finance. His career includes leadership roles in major banking institutions and consultancy work with international development partners.

Mr. Michael Phiri

Prof. Sody Mweetwa Munsaka

A biomedical scientist and academic leader with over 20 years of experience in medical research, ethics, and higher education. He serves as Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Chairperson of the Biomedical Research Ethics Committee at the University of Zambia, with expertise in public health and biomedical research.

Dr. Patricia Mwansa

Dr. Onesmus Munyati

Senior lecturer and Dean of the School of Natural Sciences at the University of Zambia, with over 30 years of experience in polymer science, nanotechnology, and chemical sensor research. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester, has led pioneering research in nanomaterials and solar cell development, and plays an active role in national and international scientific leadership.

Dr. Kenneth Banda

Senior Scientific Officer and Head of the Plant Science Research Centre at NISIR, with over 20 years of experience. She holds a PhD in Plant Pathology and specializes in fungal pathogens affecting mushrooms, with recognized publications and multiple international and national academic awards.

Dr. Thandiwe Phiri

Deputy Director of Science, Technology, and Innovation at the Ministry of Technology and Science, with over 25 years of experience across public service, academia, and industry. He holds a BSc in Chemistry, a Master’s in Leading Innovation and Change, and is pursuing a PhD in Leadership in Africa’s Development, and plays a key role in shaping Zambia’s science and innovation landscape.
